Over 50 years ago my stay at home mom took my brother, sister, and myself to the grocery store. We lived in a town of 450 people and it hasn’t grown since. Back then it was okay for mom to leave us alone in the car and expect us to have behaved while she was inside. Dad was at work which didn’t matter because mom wouldn’t rat on us for misbehaving because she would take care of the problem on the spot. One day the scene was as described and with me being the oldest and my sister next we were laughing pretty hard at the antics of our little brother who was about two years old. We thought he was putting on a pretty good show. As it turned out he was having convulsions from an asthma attack. It scared the water out of mom when she came out and discovered what we were laughing so hard about. Her fear apparently made an impression on me too. I haven’t forgotten it. Continue reading
For myself, I do not have atopic dermatitis or Eczema but have been busy trying to learn what causes it and how to get rid of it which is by the way how I came to come up with this website in case anyone wonders how I happened on this idea.
Through the years of watching a family member suffer with it I decided to find that cure all that would get rid of Eczema or Psoriasis. One thing we found for certain is there is nothing certain. There is no known cure or magic formula for getting rid of it.
Atopic dermatitis is just one type of eczema and I found there are many other types.
Even dandruff, diaper rash and poison ivy is considered to be a form of dermatitis more specifically seborrheic dermatitis. I didn’t find it mentioned but my kids had cradle cap shortly after they were born. To newborn parents it can be a little unnerving and I remember the doctor saying it would go away on its own and it did with a little moisturizing.
If you have eczema I don’t have to tell you the itchy scaly skin can drive you crazy. Some of the things that may cause it to flare up or all of a sudden show up and not go away is that catch-all term “stress”. Continue reading
First order of business today is to say Thank You for taking the time to look through my new site www.aromatherapyaid.com .
As an introduction to those who do not know me or my background my name is Jeff Bush and that’s my picture with Sandy on the posting. Through the years I’ve tried a variety of health related products. Growing up I saw elderly (to me) relatives with a variety of issues from heart problems to sitting in wheel chairs. That imbedded in my brain and made me more aware that I did not want to end up like that or worse.
We tried a lot of health related products and found some that I would recommend in a flash to anyone. Some I’ve tried were a waste of money, effort and time. I’ll skip all that stuff for now and may write a book on it sometime or another post and will just get to the point of “why aromatherapy”.
We may not want to live to be 120 but we hate the achiness of aging or injuries and quality of life no matter how long we live is important. If we can’t enjoy the time we are above ground what’s the use. Well being is what the “therapy” reminds me of and “aid” goes right along with it. So for what I’ve learned I’m recommending aromatherapy + aid so you can hopefully find the relief or soothing feeling you are looking for.
Aromatherapy got it’s name from a French perfumer, Rene Gattfosse back in the 1920’s. There’s a lot more information on that and it’s in the e-books you can get with the newsletter. Continue reading
